Preseason game at Packers leads into final week of Cardinals training camp

As training camp winds down, the Arizona Cardinals travel to Green Bay to face the defending Super Bowl champions in a preseason game on Friday, Aug. 19. The game will be televised by ABC 15 at 5 p.m.

Training camp resumes at Northern Arizona University on Monday, Aug. 22, with a practice scheduled from 3:35-5:15 p.m. That session will be followed by practices on Tuesday and Wednesday, and a final walkthrough on Thursday to close camp.

Cardinals return to training camp after preseason win

It’s back to Flagstaff for the Arizona Cardinals after opening the preseason with a 24-18 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Thursday night in Oakland.

The team will return to Northern Arizona University for training camp on Sunday, Aug. 14, with a practice scheduled for 4:20-5:20 p.m., followed by another practice at 3:05 p.m. on Monday. On Tuesday, the Cardinals are scheduled to practice at Coconino High School from 7:05-9:10 p.m.

Break in camp schedule as Cardinals prep for first preseason game

After 10 straight days of training camp, including three sets of two-a-days and the annual Red & White practice, the Arizona Cardinals are taking a few days off from the practice fields at Northern Arizona University.

No training camp practices are scheduled for the next four days as the Cardinals get set for their preseason opener at the Oakland Raiders on Thursday, Aug. 11. The game against the Raiders can be seen on ABC15 (KNXV) starting at 7 p.m.

The team will return to NAU for training camp on Sunday, Aug. 14, with a practice scheduled for 4:20-5:20 p.m.

Shuttles, special parking set for Saturday’s Red and White practice

Arizona Cardinals fans will flock to Saturday’s Red and White practice at Northern Arizona University, which includes a pre-practice autograph session for children 12 and younger.

The autograph session will take place from 10:45-11:10 a.m. on the lower field across the street from the Walkup Skydome. Gates for the session will open at 9:45 a.m. The Cardinals have set a limit of one item per child and are not permitting posed photos during this session.

Fans will then have the opportunity to see the Cardinals take the field for a training camp practice from 11:35 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the upper fields.

Shuttle service to the practice fields will be available from the commuter parking lot adjacent to Pine Knoll Drive just south of the intersection with McConnell Drive (shown as lots P62, P62A, and P62B on this map). Shuttles will be leaving every 5-10 minutes from the lot. Parking for disabled individuals will be provided directly east of the Skydome lot, just north of Pine Knoll.

Meanwhile, sections of both McConnell Drive and San Francisco Street near the Skydome will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to the conclusion of practice.

Fans are encouraged to check the latest weather reports. In the event of inclement weather, the autograph session may be canceled. If the Cardinals do not practice on the grass fields at NAU, they may still hold an outdoor practice on the field turf surface at Coconino High School. If practice is moved into the Skydome, then public access will not be available because of ongoing construction at the site.

Cardinals set training camp schedule

The Arizona Cardinals will hold their first training camp practice Saturday, July 30, from 3:05–5 p.m. on the grass fields adjacent to the Walkup Skydome on the Northern Arizona University campus. The full schedule is available here. Practice times are subject to change and fans are encouraged to check the team’s official website for the most up-to-date practice information.

Practices are scheduled at NAU each day through Saturday, Aug. 6, when the Cardinals will host a special “Red & White” outdoor practice from 11:35 a.m.–1:20 p.m. Weather permitting, the practice will be preceded by an outdoor full-team autograph session for kids 12 and under (10:45–11:10 a.m.) and conclude with a live goal-line session.

After a one-day break, practices will resume on Monday, Aug. 8. The Cardinals will also have a night practice on Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 7:05–9:10 p.m., at Coconino High School.

Admission and parking in designated areas are both free. Cardinals players and coaches will be available following each outdoor practice to sign autographs.

A map of campus and designated parking is available online. Visitors should anticipate restricted traffic and changes to parking due to several construction projects.

In the event of inclement weather, practice will be moved inside to the Skydome. Because of ongoing construction, any practices that are moved inside due to weather will not be open to the public.

End of NFL impasse means Cardinals are on their way

The NFL has settled its labor dispute, answering a question that has been asked a lot lately in Flagstaff: Yes, the Arizona Cardinals are coming to town.

With the lockout now over, the Arizona Cardinals will begin training camp Thursday when players officially report to the team’s Tempe facility.

Players will undergo physicals the next day and then head to Flagstaff and Northern Arizona University. Practice begins Saturday afternoon and the team will also have an afternoon practice Sunday as the Cards get their first on-field work since the 2010 season ended in San Francisco in early January.
